Taraneh Sharghi has shaped Iran’s modern music scene since the late nineties, founded by producer Mohsen Rajabpour.
Taraneh Sharghi Cultural & Artistic Company has been a cornerstone of Iran’s contemporary music scene since its establishment in 1999 by visionary producer Mohsen Rajabpour. Emerging from the vibrant cultural hub of Tehran, the company began its journey in the 1990s, with Rajabpour distributing music albums in Lalezar. Recognizing the need for innovation in Iran’s music industry, he established Taraneh Sharghi to introduce fresh perspectives and sounds to the market.
The company’s most notable achievement was the formation and promotion of the Arian Band, Iran’s first mixed-gender pop group post-1979. Their debut album, “The Sunflower,” released in 2000, was a groundbreaking success, resonating with audiences both domestically and internationally.
